Top 5 most expensive bikes in the world

Here's the list of world's most expensive motorbikes currently.

1. Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter – $11 million

When Neiman Marcus unveiled the Limited Edition fighter for auction, it started at $110,000, but eventually ended up being purchased at $11 Million, 100 times that amount.

With only 45 copies of this motorcycle, this is easily one of the few exclusive masterpieces in Motorcycle history.  The spectacular design resembles a clockwork mechanism and so is called “The Evolution of Machine”,  rightfully earning its “one of the most expensive bikes” status.

Surprisingly, it is more than what meets the eye, Fighter is a street legal bike and can reach up to speed of 300 kmph. It sports a beautiful clockwork design and its marketing made headlines for calling it the ‘Evolution of the Machine’. It sources power from a 120ci 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin engine. This powetrain is complemented by titanium, aluminum, and carbon fiber body parts.

2. 1949 E90 AJS Porcupine – $7 million

The 1949 E90 AJS Porcupine narrowly won the inaugural World 500cc championship, but by 1954 the design was obsolete and the subsequent unreliable E95 never won a race at world championship level in three seasons of trying. That's not stopping Bonhams from talking it up (its claim that the bike is "arguably the most beautiful, graceful and innovative racing motorcycle ever built" is just plain ridiculous) and it is expecting a sale price in excess of US$750,000

3. Ecosse ES1 Spirit – $3.6 million

For $3.6 million, it's what you can't see that makes the Ecosse ES1 Spirit a Superbike: 250 mph, carbon fibre everything, custom tailored, state of the art everywhere. Total factory support, spare parts forever, and training with a champion superbiker.

"Engineers Richard Glover, Andy le Fleming and Richard Tyrrell represent a range of motorsports skills," Cycle World wrote. "They saw two major areasâ€"weight and frontal areaâ€"in which significant advances could be made. Here is a short bill of particulars: 265 pounds, 200-plus horsepower, 50 percent of the drag of modern Superbikes. The plan is to build 10 track-day examples and test public response. As of now, the bike exists only virtually in SolidWorks, a 3D CAD software system, though extensive FEA and CFD computer analyses have been performed."
